WAHANA ARTHA FOUNDATION
WAG founded Yayasan Wahana Artha (YWA) in 2012 to focus more on social activities. There are four areas that has become YWA's pillars, namely Education, Environment, Health and Community Empowerment.
In the field of education, YWA has 56 fostered SMKs (Vocational High Schools) in Jakarta and Tangerang. Aiming to produce more qualified SMK graduates, YWA provides Honda standard practice facilities. In addition, SMK graduates also have the opportunity to work throughout the Wahana network in Jakarta, Tangerang, to support the government's vocational policy. YWA has also funded the education of 50 high schools and equivalent children who lost their parents to Covid-19.
WAG understands Health as an important and vital necessity for the community, however, there is a lack of health facilities for the underprivileged. This the main reason for YWA to participate in efforts to nourish the community. Located in Tangerang, YWA provides free health services for the underprivileged communities by establishing the Rumah Sehat Wahana “Healthy for All”. In addition to the Rumah Sehat Wahana, YWA also regularly visits remote areas that require health attention. Since 2018 alone, as many as 550,000 people have benefited.
Without a thriving and healthy environment, it is impossible for all efforts to be achieved. Various environmental programs such as planting thousands of mangrove trees on the coast of Jakarta and changing the habits of the community to recycle battery waste have been carried out. Not only that, Wahana's businesses have also massively implemented programs to take part in protecting the environment, such as stopping the use of plastic for employees and consumers, and these efforts will continue to grow.
Community empowerment is also regularly carried out, in collaboration with a trusted institution, YWA provides easy access to capital for micro-enterprises within the lower class in order for them to improve their quality of life, build economic resilience and realize social justice for the people of Indonesia.
WAHANA SUSTAINABILITY
“Small steps for a better future” is the initial foundation for Wahana Artha Group to become an active contributor in maintaining environmental sustainability for future generations.
Sustainability is a movement for a greater future. Consciously, having repair shops in various regions, WAG took the initiative to process plastic waste from used oil bottles into more useful and valuable goods. In addition, WAG is taking a step in transferring conventional electricity sources to Solar Power Plants (PLTS). As many as 5 Wahana Artha Group business facilities will use PLTS to support their activities.
Utilizing any vacant land and office space, Wahana tries to cultivate various vegetable and plant commodities, including the hydroponic system. Not only is it beneficial in creating more green areas, the harvests can be processed as healthy food which will then be distributed to people in need. Maximum commitment to sustainability is carried out as each department within Wahana is required to regularly engage in activities that will have a positive impact on the environment and society.
